The Fightback Trust is a voluntary organisation with charitable status which was set up in 1990 by a small group of HIV Positive people committed to empowering those living with HIV and AIDS.

Many of the people within the Fightback Trust have first-hand experience and knowledge of HIV and AIDS issues, and are able to understand the needs and feelings of others living with this disease.

We are based in Lowestoft and cover a large area from South Norfolk and across Suffolk. We are pleased to be part of a mutual commitment to working in close conjunction with other community based voluntary and statutory agencies.

Client Services

These services are primarily designed to meet the needs of people living with and directly affected by HIV and AIDS. We provide services to anyone living within our catchment area and aim to assist them in finding the best source of help for their needs. Please see the "Our Services" section of our site for more details of the Client Services we provide.

Some of our volunteers work on the Helpline, some are Buddies, Befrienders, some offer Outreach and Prevention services or fundraise while others tend to the general administration of the office. There are many opportunities for people to put whatever skills they have into action. Volunteers receive induction training before starting work, and are carefully supervised. Volunteers participate in ongoing training thereafter in areas of the Trust's work in which they have expressed an interest. As our services are expanding, we warmly welcome new volunteers to become involved in any areas of service provision. Our goal is to provide a friendly and supportive environment, we aim to make the Fightback Trust as accessible as possible, in order to reach out to those who may benefit from the services we provide.
